About the study
You are invited to take part in a study by Ayomide Omotosho and Saidul Alam, MSc Computer Science students at Lakehead University, as part of the course COMP 5112, Research Methodology (Fall 2026). The study looks at how listeners understand and judge short podcast episodes.
What you will do
- Part 1: listen to two short podcast episodes, about 2 minutes each, and answer a few quiz questions after each.
- Part 2: listen to three clips of about a minute and a half, and rate each one.
Some details are kept back until the end. Telling you everything about the clips before you listen would change how you hear them. At the end, a debriefing page explains all of it.
Your choices
Taking part is voluntary. You can skip any question or stop at any time, without penalty. At the end you can choose to withdraw your answers. Risks are minimal, about the same as listening to a podcast.
Privacy
- You get a participant number. Your name and email are not asked for or stored.
- The answers are kept on an encrypted server in Canada (Amazon Web Services, Montreal region).
- Results are reported only as group averages. If you agree, your comments may be quoted without anything that identifies you.
Questions about the study go to the researchers who invited you (Ayomide Omotosho and Saidul Alam).
